Downloading an Evaluation
You can either download an evaluation directly from this website or request a
demo CD. There is no difference between the download on our website and an
evaluation CD. We always recommend that you download the evaluation
directly since it is much faster than waiting for us to ship you a CD. However,
we do have some customers that would rather get the CD, so we continue to support
this option.
All evaluations are fully functioning for 30 run days. We never disable
features in an evaluation version or it would make it impossible for customers
to evaluate them.
30 Run Day Definition
When you begin evaluating software from Prolink, you may notice that it seems
to last longer than 30 calendar days. This is because we have adopted a
progressive evaluation license that only counts a new day each time you start
the software on a different day. Therefore, if you launch the software for the
first time today and then again two weeks from now, you’ll still have 29 days.
This method prevents the evaluation from expiring before you have a chance to
fully evaluate the product. It also doesn't count weekends against your evaluation period unless you run the software on those days.
Purchasing and Licensing Software from Prolink
All software from Prolink is a 30 run day evaluation version regardless
of whether it is from the website or on a CD. When you purchase software from
Prolink, you are actually purchasing a key to unlock or activate an evaluation
version of the software. If you order a CD/Manual with your purchase, we will
send you a CD with an evaluation version that will still need to be unlocked.
Therefore, if you are evaluating the software and decide to purchase it, there
is no need to download anything further. Simply unlock the evaluation on your
machine and you’re ready to go.
Manuals vs. Online Help
There is no difference between the paper manual and the online help that is
installed with any of our products. All CMM machine specific help is
installed with QC-CALC, but is not shipped with the manual as it is too large
and most customers only have one or two CMM types.
