Original Issue

I have some plans that I created and store on our network. When I execute them on Machine A from plant 1, the data is collected and saved to the proper location. If I open and execute that plan at our second plant on Machine B the data disappears. It literally goes no where and no errors appears, nor does the message that confirms data has been collected as it does on Machine A. I've checked paths, and verified that everything matches what's running at plant 1. Any ideas?

Solution

Verifying the settings:

  • QC-Gage (Identify the italicized value):
    1. Tools > Options > QC-CALC Communication > "QC-Gage Output"
  • QC-CALC (Identify the italicized value):
    1. Tools > Options > Data Collection > Set Paths > "Fixed Database Location"
    2. Tools > Options > Data Collection > Data Source Information > "Model Code"
    3. Tools > Options > Data Collection > Data Source Information > "File Path and Name"

Verifying the correct Model/Machine Type is set in QC-CALC:

  • If the "Model Code" above did not read as "CENT", then follow the steps below:
    1. Go to Help > Install Wizard > • Prolink Standard Formats > select GageStation
    2. Finish to exit this screen.
    3. Complete a test run of your Spec Plan to see if the results change. If they do not, proceed to the next stage.

Verifying the QC-Gage output is going to the correct location from the problem machine:

  1. Pause QC-CALC Real-Time.
  2. Run your Spec Plan
  3. With Windows File Explorer, navigate to the location identified above as "QC-Gage Output"
  4. In this location, identify whether or not there is a qc.sta file at this location.
  5. If this file is NOT in this location, please report your findings to Prolink. If it is, please skip to the next step.

Verifying that the data at the "Fixed Database location" is being updated correctly:

  • At this point, we will have successfully identified that QC-Gage is outputting it's data to the desired location. We will now want to identify whether or not QC-CALC is having a problem with "collecting the data" or "interpreting the data".
    1. Unpause QC-CALC Real-Time.
    2. Review the output location and whether or not the file is still located there (from the previous stage of troubleshooting).
      • If still located in this folder, review the "File Path and Name" option from the top of this guide. If this looks correct and you are unsure of how to proceed, report your findings to Prolink.
      • If the file disappears from this folder, review the "Fixed Database Location" option from the top of this guide. If this looks correct and you are unsure of how to proceed, report your findings to Prolink.
