QUESTION

Is it possible to do a Cmk calculation based on a shifted process?

ANSWER

The Cmk is exactly the same calculation as Cpk which takes in to consideration the process shift.

We added the Cmk label so our Real-Time plots can display either one. When dealing with machine capability, Cmk is the correct label. When inspecting parts, Cpk is the correct label.

MORE INFORMATION
To show Cmk on the plots:

  • Go to Tools > Options > Configure Plot Settings > Items to Show.
  • In the Calculation drop down list on the right, choose Cmk and click OK.
