SYMPTOM
You want to plot your data in QC-CALC Real-Time in an order other than it was originally collected.

CAUSE
QC-CALC Real-Time will always plot the data, from left-to-right in the order that it was received. For this reason there are two possible ways to change what you see.

WORKAROUND 1
You can move the data in the records so that QC-CALC believes the data was measured in the order that you want. This method may be better for a one time sort, where you don't mind doing a little copying and pasting. For this method, see Reordering Records in the Database.

WORKAROUND 2
Temporarily sort the data and display it using a Plot Report. This is obviously not the same as the QC-CALC Real-Time screen, but it is very simple and safer than changing your data.

STEPS

  1. Open the data file in QC-CALC SPC and select the column on which you wish to sort.
  2. Right-click and choose Sort Records > Ascending/Descending.
  3. Now click the Report > Other Reports menu, then choose the Dimensions to include in this report.
  4. Now choose Plot Report as your Report Type.

This report will give you your chosen data set plotted in the pre-sorted order. No cutting and pasting, and you can do this at any time on any column.
