SYMPTOM

Why do I have to keep resetting the same properties every time a new database is created?

CAUSE

When QC-CALC creates a new database, there are many settings for which we do not receive any information. How many columns should we add for Assignable Causes and Corrective Actions? How much space should be allowed for your Text Factors? What should the Control Limits be? If you find that you know the answers to some of these questions ahead of time, then you can set your "File Creation Defaults" in our Settings section and save yourself a lot of work.

RESOLUTION

From either QC-CALC Real-Time or QC-CALC SPC, click on the Tools - Options menu to bring up the Settings screen. In the list at the left, click on the plus sign next to "File Creation Defaults". On these three pages you can set the default values that will be applied to all new files.

Applies To

QC-CALC Real-Time v.3.0
QC-CALC SPC 3.0
