Never Type Data into Minitab again!

We have just combined the power of QC-CALC's automatic data collection with Minitab. You can now set up QC-CALC Real-Time to automatically collect the data from your automatic inspection machine or handheld gage and export directly to Minitab. Upon export, Minitab will appear with all the data displayed in the main window. Once you try this feature, you'll wonder why you ever typed inspection results into Minitab!

Let us prove it to you!

  1. Download the 15 day evaluation of QC-CALC right now (use button below) and install it on any machine with Minitab.

  2. Start up QC-CALC Real-Time for the first time.

    The first time it is run, QC-CALC Real-Time will ask you what type of inspection machine you are running. Simply choose the CMM or vision system that is connected to your PC. If you don't have a CMM, just click Cancel for now.

  3. For sample data, use the Training CMM that is shipped with QC-CALC to generate some fake data for export. You can do this by going to Start > Programs > Prolink > Training CMM.

  4. In the Training CMM, type the Part Name and the Number of Features you would like to generate. For example, use "My Part Test" as the name with 16 features.

  5. Click Inspect 5-10 times. QC-CALC Real-Time will immediately begin plotting the points.

  6. To export to Minitab, click Export > Export Data..

  7. In the Export window, choose Minitab as the Export Type, leave the rest of the values as default, and click Export.

    If Minitab is installed on the local PC, it will immediately launch and you will see your results in the main window.

  8. Jump up and down while waving your arms in the air. You just found a way to make your life easier, save time, and save your company money!

  9. Proceed immediately to your manager and demand to purchase QC-CALC Real-Time! :)

This is a quick example to show you how easy it is to collect data from your CMM and manually export it to Minitab.

Here are a couple other options to try:
  • QC-CALC Real-Time can be set up to automatically export data to Minitab as often as needed.
  • Data can be filtered before sent based on criteria you specify.
  • The Configure button on the Export screen allows you to specify exactly which fields are sent to Minitab.
  • Data can be collected from hand-held gages through QC-Gage and exported to Minitab.
