You are seeing "This file is locked into Part 11 mode. You must be part of a User Group with Part 11 mode enabled in order to collect data. Your data will not be saved." and you need to know what this means and how you can collect data again.

This message means that someone turned on Part 11 mode (available on the Part 11 tab in the Admin Tool) and opened that .qcc file. It is possible they were just experimenting to see what that was, but once a file is opened when Part 11 mode is enabled only another copy of QC-CALC that has Auditing (Part 11 mode) enabled is allowed to edit that .qcc file. This prevents someone from getting around the whole Part 11 system by installing another copy of QC-CALC and NOT joining the Admin User Group that has Part 11 enabled. This Part 11 mode is to help customers (typically medical) that need to make sure no one is changing data values without approval.

If your company is actually using Part 11 mode, then it isn't safe to do anything to that file and instead you should attach that copy of QC-CALC to the Admin Tool > User Group that has the Part 11 mode enabled. Once that is done, you will be able to edit a value/collect data and you will be challenged for a user name and password whenever necessary.

If the Part 11 mode was just something that was turned on by accident, then that file can be removed from Part 11 mode by going to the File > Modify Database Structure menu. You will be asked for the Admin Password in order to get into that screen and once inside it will show a very different screen than is normally displayed (as shown below). Uncheck the Enable Auditing for this file option.

At this point you will be asked if you want to back up the part 11 log that was attached to that .qcc file. Moving that information to another folder in case it is needed later will not cause any issues, so using the Yes option is recommended.
