Resetting Automatic Report and Export Counters/Triggers

SYMPTOM

Automatic Reporting or Exporting is set and triggers every 10 records. But after receiving 5 of those 10 parts I receive a part from another program. When I come back to my original program, the counter starts at 1 of 10 instead of continuing at 6 of 10.


CAUSE

This is by design if you have a certain setting applied.


RESOLUTION

  1. Select the Tools - Options menu and then the Data Collection - Action section.
  2. The checkbox setting labeled "On New File... Reset Auto Counters" controls this.
  3. If you uncheck it then the counters will be saved for when you return to the file.
