SYMPTOM
Automatic Reporting or Exporting is set and triggers every 10 records. But after receiving 5 of those 10 parts I receive a part from another program. When I come back to my original program, the counter starts at 1 of 10 instead of continuing at 6 of 10.
CAUSE
This is by design if you have a certain setting applied.
RESOLUTION
- Select the Tools - Options menu and then the Data Collection - Action section.
- The checkbox setting labeled "On New File... Reset Auto Counters" controls this.
- If you uncheck it then the counters will be saved for when you return to the file.
