Primary Data Collector

Your primary data collector is the one you choose in the Help > Install Wizard menu. The settings for the primary data collector are found in Tools > Options > Data Collection > Data Source Information.

Secondary Data Collector

The secondary data collector is reserved for GageStation. It is enabled automatically and collects data from the folder that QC-Gage is outputting to. This location is set in QC-Gage in Tools > Options > QC-CALC Communication > QC-Gage Output

Tertiary Data Collector

The third, or tertiary, data collector is for the Prolink Training CMM application used to simulate data collection. By default, QC-CALC Real-Time collects TCMM data from C:\SPCData\.

Special Cases

  1. If you set your primary data collector as GageStation, then the secondary data collector is turned off. This is to prevent multiple data collectors from fighting over a qc.sta file from a single copy of QC-Gage.
  2. If you set your primary data collector as TCMM (Training CMM), then the tertiary TCMM data collector is turned off
  3. There are several machine drivers that use a secondary data collector in addition to the primary one:
    1. PC-DMIS can enable a second "Blade" data collector
    2. OGP CMMs can use two data collectors for Report and Export, respectively

Troubleshooting Data Collectors

Troubleshooting all data collectors follows the process outlined in Data Collection Troubleshooting - 4.0
